Technical Writer

The Role

The Tubi engineering team is looking for a technical writer to own and direct public and internal technical documentation at Tubi. As a Managing Editor & Technical Writer, you will have complete editorial oversight of Tubi’s Engineering blog at https://code.tubitv.com and work closely with senior members of technical staff to help them publicize some of the innovative work that is happening inside Tubi. You will also partner directly with team leads to help organize tutorials, how-to guides, and internal reference documentation, driving gains in developer productivity. You will work directly with senior stakeholders inside and outside of engineering to improve the usage of Tubi’s self-serve data platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the voice, strategy, and editorial calendar for the Tubi technical blog
• Partner with technical subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to create engaging technical content
• Evaluate blog engagement to drive continuous improvement efforts
• Work closely with the CTO and other engineering subject matter experts to organize and develop user-focused developer documentation and tutorials on how to use key engineering systems  
• Drive multiple documentation sprints across engineering teams
• Work with the various data organizations to document datasets used through the company
• Help team members revise internal and external presentations

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience 
• 2+ years of experience as an effective technical writer producing engaging content for technical audiences
• 1+ years of experience documenting SDKs, APIs, or similar tools
• Experience collaborating with engineers, senior stakeholders, and other technical subject matter experts to develop high-impact technical content and documentation
• Demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills
• Solutions orientation contributor with a focus on quality and attention to detail
• Basic SQL proficiency and understanding of data

Conversant in Mandarin is a strong plus
