Job Description
Description: Create user, software, installation, service, and API (Application Programming Interface) technical documentation in consultation with Subject Matter Experts to establish technical and engineering content needed to create documentation per Brooks' technical documentation standards. Duties include:
What you will do:
- Publish technical engineering documentation using Brook's product lifecycle management system;
- Write Field Replacement Unit and Upgrade procedures which detail the removal and replacement of parts;
- Conduct operations research to understand process flows, lean strategies and methodologies;
- Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) to organize technical product engineering documentation and complete technical writing assignments per set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology:
- Create drafts (Content and Illustrations) per manuscripts including segregating assemblies as sections based on structure and function and develop removal/install procedures for product components;
- Develop and implement content strategies for creating, managing, and publishing product information using Content Management System (CMS) during production planning and control manufacturing process:
- Create information pool with various product content such as descriptive content, instructional content, and technical specifications; subject structures in the information pool depending on product group or products;
- Use Visual Factory to develop and implement content strategies for creating technical product manufacturing instructions as means of removing paper-based forms from the manufacturing process including electrical display boards that provide real-time information about status of production (or process) within facility and alerts whenever assistance is needed; pre-step warnings; clear, simplified instructions in complex technical product manufacturing environment; and changes that decrease waste from operation procedures;
- Work collaboratively with a team of writers using MadCap Flare (technical writing software used to maximize technical documentation content reuse and streamline creation and multi-channel delivery of documentation) as well as departmental revision control systems to author topic-based technical documentation.
- Position can be located anywhere in the United States.
What you will bring:
A Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and 5 years of experience in a technical writing-related occupation in the semiconductor industry.
Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
5 years of experience utilizing Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. 5 years of experience in MadCap Flare and associated MadCap products (Lingo, Capture), and RoboHelp. 5 years of experience creating documentation for robotics, atmospheric and vacuum systems, and contamination control systems. 5 years of experience reading and interpreting technical information from electrical and mechanical drawings. 5 years of experience working with manufacturing instructions and graphics, specifically Visual Factory and related applications. 5 years of experience utilizing CREO, Solidworks, and AutoDesk Inventor to retrieve, modify, and repurpose CAD files for use as graphics in technical documentation. 5 years of experience utilizing Agile and Subversion databases to organize and store documentation and to create and track data as a permanent process-of-record. 3 years of supervisory experience for a technical publications group.

Salary: $115,586 - $141,461.15 per year
