Technical Writer

TigerGraph, the only scalable graph database for the enterprise, is seeking a Technical Writer who will uphold our reputation for having detailed, comprehensive, and well-organized product documentation. The successful candidate has a passion for effective written and visual communication with software users, strives for logical completeness and correctness, has mastery of English grammar and word choice, and pays attention to detail. You will report to the Director of Product Management, who previously served as the company's technical writer.

• Create new technical documentation and revise and expand existing documentation (docs.tigergraph.com) to satisfy the needs of an ever-evolving and maturing enterprise database software platform.

• Interact with software developers, product management, and occasionally marketing. Interview and converse with developers to understand product features and how they are used.

• Product documentation types include database language specifications, user guides, tutorials, FAQs, and release notes. Other documentation types include white papers, application/solution briefs, product briefs, benchmark and other technical reports, blogs aimed at developers, and slide presentations aimed at developers or managers.

• Programming experience strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to write to either a technical audience or a business / general user audience.  Samples of writing required.

  
  

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

• 3+ Years of Experience

Bonus Points:

• Working knowledge of common programming language vernacular, concepts, structures, and syntax. Ability to format code nicely. Use of common conventions for expressing command syntax and options. Advanced skill with Word-style document editors. Basic image capture and editing skills. Absolutely comfortable on the web.

• Knowledge of database and enterprise software vernacular. Familiarity with basic syntax and structures for common programming languages such as Java and Python. Familiarity with formalisms such as BNF and regular expressions. Ability to edit and publish WordPress. Ability to edit text and simple styling in HTML and CSS. Ability to navigate a Linux file system and to run software from the command line.
