We're an award-winning IT solutions provider to the Federal government, seeking a Technical Writer with a background in software engineering to join our team on a high-profile project supporting a major Federal agency.

Although this is a telecommuting position, candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area or within Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania (excluding the City of Philadelphia), Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia.

In this role, you will take Authority to Operate (ATO) and Application Programming Interfaces (API) concepts and adapt them into a plain language format that is easy to understand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops illustrations and tables to organize information in a way that is easy to consume for senior government officials down through implementation teams
• Reviews drawings and designs reports
• Writes text and coordinates layout and design of technical materials
• Explains scientific and technical ideas in simple language
• Writes clear and concise policies and procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• A minimum of 7 years of combined experience in software development and technical writing
• Experience supporting the federal government
• Excellent project and time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong research and problem-solving skills
• Ability to partner and collaborate effectively
• Ability to work in a complex IT Governance environment supporting day-to-day activities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience implementing effective quality control processes
• Proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of Learning Management Systems
• Experience growing project work through identifying client needs, writing proposals, developing white papers

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Certification in cybersecurity area such as CISSP or Security+

EDUCATION:

• A Bachelor's degree is required
