Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer for Boston Dynamics, you will join our Product Learning & Development team with a focus on creating documentation for our advanced Warehouse Robotics solutions. You will be instrumental in helping to build and scale our technical documentation program for internal and external customers. Every day, you will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, safety, service and more, to understand and execute documentation projects to meet business needs. To thrive in this role, you must have demonstrated experience developing technical documentation and have worked as part of a collaborative team to meet shared goals.

Day-to-day activities:

• Develop technical documentation and work instructions for our Warehouse Robotics products that meet all stakeholder requirements.
• Work with internal teams to distill engineering documentation and convert it into impactful short and long-form technical documentation such as user manuals and knowledge-based articles for delivery via our online customer support portal.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts in Product Management, Engineering, Service, Marketing, Operations, Safety, and Legal teams.
• Work as part of a highly collaborative product or learning and development team to execute our vision for new product/feature documentation and strategies to improve existing technical content.

Desired skills:

• Demonstrated experience in writing technical documentation such as Instructions for Use, Maintenance Guides, or Assembly or repair work instructions for industrial or technical products
• Proven ability to write clear and engaging technical content enhanced with technical illustrations, graphics, or flow diagrams
• Ability to produce high-quality work on schedule while managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
• Proficiency with markup languages typically used in a CMS (i.e. - AsciiDoc, Paligo, Markdown, etc.)

Nice to have skills:

• Experience with source control platforms such as Git or Github
• Experience on a team using Agile scrum methodology
• Background in technology fields such as engineering, production, and design
