The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for a Technical Writer to join our dynamic DES (Defense Enclave Services) team supporting DISA at Fort Meade, MD on a hybrid basis. DES program link: www.leidos.com/des 

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The Defense Enclave Services contract will unify the DoD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ (DAFAs) common use information technology systems, personnel, functions, and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office. It will unify the DAFAs on a common, modernized network architecture, DoDNet, to provide mission services focused on enhanced user experience, improved security, and network reliability.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: 

•Must have an ACTIVE SECRET or above clearance required. (US Citizenship required)

Job Summary

Responsible for writing, editing, proofreading and/or providing writing support on technical documents such as manuals, procedures and technical specifications for technical design teams, clients and/or end-users.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing technical manuals, brochures, training materials, or other documentation for internal use, customer reference, or other purposes.

• Research technical reference materials, gathering relevant technical information, coordinating with stakeholders or other experts, developing draft and final copies of documentation while ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications and adhering to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience.

• Must possess an active DoD Secret or above clearance. (US Citizenship required)

• Has expert knowledge of industry practices, advanced techniques and solutions within a professional discipline to develop new standards, processes, and solutions.

• Experience supporting program activities using the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Pay Range:Pay Range $38,350.00 - $69,325.00
