Job Description

RSDC, an Information Technology and Services Company, is seeking a Technical Writer to join their team. As a key member of the team, the Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation to support the company's products and services. Our company is dedicated to cultivating a collaborative and team focused environment, and the Technical Writer will play an integral role in achieving this mission.

The Technical Writer will work closely with various departments to research and write various types of technical documents. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, have a strong understanding of technical writing principles, be able to prioritize multiple tasks, and demonstrate an unwavering attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and maintain technical documents, including user manuals, quick reference guides, release notes, and online help systems.
  • Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and product management to gather information and ensure the accuracy of technical content.
  • Develop and maintain a style guide to ensure consistency across all documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with established standards and guidelines.
  • Manage documentation projects from start to finish, including developing project plans, setting timelines, and tracking progress.
  • Work with technical teams to identify and document new product features and enhancements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on documentation and provide guidance to other writers on the team.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Government tech writing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, or related field desired.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical writing principles and style guidelines.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and publishing tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
