Technical Writer
Job Description
AG offers a comprehensive benefit package including a monthly commuter benefit as well as immediate 401k and medical enrollment. This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Work will be performed on a hybrid schedule at the client site in Washington, DC.
The WORK
- Support technical and requirements documentation for multiple software projects simultaneously during all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle in an Agile environment.
- Support technical and requirements documentation for multiple SharePoint Online engineering projects simultaneously during all phases of the System Development Lifecycle in an Agile environment.
- Collaborate with the software engineers, test engineers, and database architect to ensure all functional requirements are clearly documented.
- Collaborate with the SharePoint Online Technical Lead and engineers to ensure all policies and requirements are clearly documented.
- Manage the document repository in Confluence for each supported project.
- Coordinate with the government functional proponent to understand the user's challenge and document the application's acceptance criteria.
- Take the initiative to suggest new features, bug fixes, performance improvements, or usability enhancements based on discussion with government functional proponents and users.
- Prepare training outlines for CaseView based on functional topics identified by the Requirements Analyst.
- Provide application demonstrations and functional user training on the CaseView application in coordination with the Requirements Analyst, as required.
The REQUIREMENTS
- A BS or MS degree in technical writing, computer science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of functional business requirements documentation experience, including work on large-scale applications as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools or adapt to unfamiliar technologies.
- Ability to travel client site in Washington, DC.
- Understanding of Agile methodology and the creation of user stories.
- Experience with SQL Server
- SharePoint certification preferred
- Must be willing to work on site, full-time, in Downtown DC. Hybrid support is permitted as a result of the COVID pandemic, but remote work may be modified by the customer in the future.
- Must be able to report for work M-F, 5 days a week. Alternative flex schedule allowed within normal work hours (i.e., between the hours of 7 am - 6 pm).
- Able to obtain a federal security clearance; active or recent federal security clearance preferred.
