Technical Writer

The Documentation Team is part of the Product organization and maintains the content of the Teleport docs site.

At Teleport, engineers document new functionality. The Documentation Team maintains standards and processes for docs authors, and contributes high-priority changes such as new guides and information architecture improvements.

On a given day, a Technical Writer could be:

• Writing a guide to Teleport role-based access controls for Kubernetes.

• Checking GitHub issues and Google Analytics data to plan priorities.

• Editing a GitHub Actions workflow to configure linting for prose style.

• Adding instructions to a React component in the Teleport Web UI.

• Making example Terraform configurations easier to use.

In this position you will:

• Enable Teleport users to be self-sufficient by writing intuitive tutorials, guides and references.
• Manage the information architecture of the documentation site to streamline the discovery of relevant content.
• Ensure that users are presented with relevant documentation, in the product or otherwise, exactly when they need it.
• Surface issues and inconsistencies with how we present information in the product.

What to expect once you apply:

• You will join a 30-minute intro call with a recruiter where we will walk you through the compensation, interview process, and requirements.
• You will join a 45-minute call with the hiring manager, discussing topics ranging from past work to documentation strategy.
• You will collaborate asynchronously with our engineering, product, and documentation teams to draft an article about a technical concept.
