Technical Writer

Position Description:

• Develop comprehensive documentation for CGIs AI platform product that meets organizational standards• Gain deep understanding of the products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content• Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success• Develop and maintain detailed database of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications• Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Outline, write, and edit content, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to understand product requirements and roadmap• Gather information from leads, subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write product manuals / user guide, technical specifications, and process documentation• Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage• Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration• Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice / video across all documentation

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 9 + years of professional technical writing experience in creating product documentation that clarifies the design, features, and benefits.• Experience developing content strategy, and scoping out new features to ensure all necessary information has been included for stakeholder to understand the project technical designs and user manuals• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter• Proven experience in technical writing of software documentation and user manuals for various audiences• Excellent written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail• Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred skills and qualifications• Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication)• Experience in using tools to create documentation

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,300 - $116,100 ."
