About this role: 

Unite Us has a growing product portfolio and with each release is creating more and more functionality to serve the needs of its partners and end users. The Technical Writer will design and develop technical product content, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, satisfaction, and experience. You will build and drive a cohesive end-to-end content strategy for the company, ranging from technical requests for proposal (RFPs), application programming interface (API) documentation, technical manuals, and implementation-related content explaining our technology to internal stakeholders. You will distill complex technical information into easy-to-understand, appropriate language for RFPs.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the RFP response process for assigned RFPs, including proposal timeline and task management, coordination with SMEs, writing, formatting, creating visuals, revising drafts, proposal production, obtaining content approvals, and submission.
• Maintain the library of responses for future use, including reviewing previous RFPs, crafting new responses, and keeping responses up to date.
• Create and lead a differentiated technical content strategy and process for the company, closely in tune with our product development life cycle, including everything from creating templates to publication.
• Define the process and create internally-facing documentation across product lines and various internal tools.
• Collaborate with other technical writers on processes, procedures, and templates.
• Bring new and innovative approaches to improve existing documentation processes.
• Manage complex documentation projects with a focus on maintaining high standards for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Create diagrams and other visual aids as needed to enhance understanding of workflows.

You’re a great fit for this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design, or related field or any Engineering degree
• Portfolio of work/writing samples relevant to the position
• Demonstrated success in responding to public sector RFPs and grants
• Demonstrated ability to document detailed technical content such as APIs and/or data exchange specifications like mapping documents
• Experience and comfort with industry-standard technical documentation practices and tools, and ability to learn them as needed

Preference given to candidates with: 

• Advanced degrees or certifications in technical communications 
• Familiarity with Loopio
• Familiarity and/or experience with the concept of a Master Patient Index
• Familiarity and/or experience working with industry terminology and classification systems, such as SNOMED, CPT/HCPCS, RxNORM, CVX, ICD-10, LOINC, etc.
• Familiarity and/or experience with industry standards, especially HL7, including Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) and/or Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR)
• Familiarity and/or experience with open standards-based authentication frameworks, such as OAuth, SMART, SCIM, SAML, OpenID

Environmental Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

• This position is remote, U.S. based
  
• Target range: $50.00-&70.00/hr. This hourly range represents our national target range for this role. Some geographic areas may have higher target ranges
