Technical Writer / Editor

The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Writer/Editor working from our Huntsville, AL facility. The potential candidate will be responsible to research, write, edit, and proofread technical data for use in documents related to the design and manufacturing of mechanical prototype devices.

The ideal candidate will ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style. He/she will assist in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations. This candidate will require excellent written communication skills. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents
• Gather and analyze technical and product information

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field or equivalent
• Two to four years of related experience
• Strong communications skills, both oral and written
• Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts
• Information analysis
• Review and/or copyedit content written by other team members
• Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense
• US Citizen

Preferred Skills:

• Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense
