The Technical Writer role is responsible for working closely with both technical subject matter expert teammates and management to ensure documentation requirements are fully met for all Cepheid products including assays, instrument manuals and software. The goal of Technical Publications is to strive towards best-in-class instructional documents to help our valued customers succeed with our products.

This position is part of the North America Marketing team and will be located in Sunnyvale, California as a hybrid role. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Create and edit instructions for use for Cepheid products (instruments, assays, software).
• Interpret and analyze content for grammatical consistency to Cepheid's style guides. and ensure that all documents meet the style guide requirements.
• Initiate and follow up on document reviews with subject matter experts.
• Oversee translations and format final translations from our third-party translation supplier.
• Complete final inspection and release procedures for all documents.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree in the Technical Publications field with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master's degree in the Technical Publications field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in the Technical Publications field with 0-2 years of related work experience.
• Solid understanding of the precepts of DITA, shared content, and English for translations.
• Management of image creation and organization.
• Working knowledge of the following software: Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Standard Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Adobe Workfront.
• Vasont Inspire Component Content Management System.
• Working in the Medical Diagnostics field or other highly regulated environment.

The salary range for this role is $93,100 - $128,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
