Technical Writer II/ Copy Editor
Job Description
Our biotechnology client, is looking for Technical Writer II/ Copy Editor
Description:
• Works with team and functional departments to ensure timely delivery of documents to include edits, rewrites and authentication of content related to laboratory diagnostics technical training materials
• Reviews, edits and drafts changes to controlled documents
• Interacts with technical experts regarding document creation, editing and control.
• Receives communications from clinical/technical staff and edits documentation in a clear and concise style
• Improves editorial and visual standards for documents and recommends new designs, layouts and procedures as needed
Responsibilities:
• Communicate professionally within the organization via email, phone calls, video meetings, or in person
• Proofread and edit text at various stages of the document and elearning creation process for concision, spelling, grammar and ease of comprehension
• Ensure documents and elearning materials meet design standards, branding, trademarking, and legal language requirements
• Ensure all graphics in documents and elearning materials meet design standards for intended use (print, digital, etc.)
As part of document workflows, ensure all associated metadata in the Content
• Management System is complete and accurate
• Ensure appropriate reviewers/approvers are included in document workflows within the Content Management System per the most current version of the approver matrix
Skills
• 3+ years of copy editing experience
• 3+ years InDesign experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
• Thorough knowledge of media production and print/digital communication development
• Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text
• Willingness to collaborate with a creative team of trainers, designers, and stakeholders
• Strong computer skills, especially G Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud; eLearning
software (Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, etc.) a plus
• Mastery in identifying spelling, grammar and punctuation errors and ability to make constructive suggestions
• Experience with a regulated environment, including following SOPs to ensure compliance with a quality system
• Experience with LMS systems preferred
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and work experience
