Technical Writer Intern - Summer 2023

Summer 2023 Internship: This position is located at our HQ in Durham, NC. Expected program dates are May 15 - August 18, 2023.

Job Summary:

As an intern on the TGCS Information Development team, you will gain experience with transforming complex technical documentation into easy to understand, user focused product guides. You will work closely with other technical writers who will provide you with hands on technical writing opportunities that include writing content in DITA and working in a Content Management System. Responsibilities for this position include conducting peer reviews, assisting with publication updates and updating team procedures. The intern chosen will also be responsible for transferring content from the Information Development team's database to Microsoft SharePoint.

Areas of Expertise & Special Skills:

• Strong understanding of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and writing style
• Ability to work independently but also collaborate with team members when necessary

Preferred Skills:

• Comfortable using Microsoft office tools and learning new software

Responsibilities:

• Conduct peer reviews
• Assist with editing and updating publications
• Assist with transferring team database to Microsoft SharePoint
• Assist with updating team procedures
