AMDEX Corporation is seeking a Technical Writer with experience working on RPA software development projects to join its team supporting our Federal government customer.

The focus of the project is to develop solutions that can be used to increase efficiency and reduce time to perform repetitive tasks. RPA (Robotic Process Automation) will be used to develop emerging business process automations technology based on the notion of software robots and artificial intelligence (AI) workers.

The solutions will automate end-to-end processes and provide the ability to handle processes having repetitive tasks to minimize manual intervention.

The Technical Writer will work alongside business analysts and developers and report directly to the Project Manager. Expertise in automation technologies and UIPath will play a critical role in driving automation initiatives and achieving operational excellence.

The Technical Writer will have demonstrated experience creating, reviewing, and editing business-critical documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Using specific templates and guidelines; create, review, edit, and revise a variety of documentation to include system documentation, status reports, user manuals and guides, briefings and other project deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Select visuals to illustrate procedures in documentation
  • Proof all division documents to ensure they are error free
  • Ensure templates are updated with current style guidelines, links, and images and stored in the designated central location
  • Document design manipulation, formatting, and page layout using desktop publishing software
  • Consult relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to ensure feedback is incorporated into office articles and publications
  • Prepare written replies of routine and on-going issues regarding program updates
  • Provide recommendations regarding communication of project planning, status, and results to stakeholders
  • Maintain reports, record keeping, and quality control associated with organizational goals and initiatives
  • Assist in writing documents for management reviews; work with project staff to provide document integrity
  • Develop papers for presentation to client and assist with the development of presentation materials and reports to support program managers as needed
  • Handle multiple tasks at one time, on short deadlines
  • Able to give and receive constructive feedback when editing work

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience, with at least 1 year of specialized writing and editing of technical documents for RPA projects, in particular using UiPath tools
  • Strong analytical, data gathering, editing, and document management skills
  • Experience building strategic partnerships; facilitation, teambuilding and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration, in a professional setting, with senior management, customers and staff
  • Knowledge of Section 508 Compliance highly preferred

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical writing for RPA projects using UIPath tools is preferred

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English or related discipline; Master's Degree preferred
  • Experience with technical writing for IT projects
