About the role:

You will join a team of technical writers that make technical or specialized information more usable and accessible to users at the right time with appropriate media.
 

About the team:

You will be part of the Documentation CoE team which is a horizontal for Capital Markets to improve and standardize content, optimize processes, and design usable information architecture improvements.

What you will be doing:

• Research, outline, write, and edit functional, technical, and process documents, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
• Standardize the structure and writing style aligned with FIS brand guidelines and market standards.
• Deliver product documentation on agreed-upon time, for example, sprint end date, n+1 sprint end date, code complete date, or product release date.
• Conduct peer reviews diligently for all the documents and ensure that the document follows accepted technical writing standards (such as clear, concise, complete, etc.) and a common style guide within the agreed-upon timelines.
• Keep track of release timeline and other product documentation projects and accordingly plan doc updates and follow-ups during sprint planning or agreed-upon intervals.

What you will need:

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field such as computer science or a focus on English, writing, or communications.
• 6+ years of experience required in a software development environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication and experience working with content in multiple mediums.
• Experience working with the following tools preferred: MindTouch/Madcap Flare/RoboHelp, Word, JIRA/Git & GitHub/TFS/SVN.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Added bonus if you have:

• Experience working on fintech products
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development teams
• Basic knowledge of a scripting/markup language (HTML/XML, JavaScript, or similar)
