Technician Senior - Environmental Stress Screening
At the Ball Aerospace Manufacturing Center (AMC) location in Westminster, CO, we develop and manufacture state of the art tactical technologies including low profile antennas, electronic warfare platforms, and multispectral imaging systems. Technological developments are driving rapid expansion of our manufacturing capabilities to support customer demands. You will get to work with state-of-the-art military, space, and tactical equipment. The role is hands-on, technically challenging, and allows you to contribute to impactful projects with exciting missions. Working alongside highly skilled people including engineers and technicians there is space to learn and grow. This position will support the Westminster ESS Lab in vibe testing and thermal cycling ensuring our products maintain 100% quality.
What You'll Do:
- Work in the ESS lab running vibration and thermal test profiles per customer requirements.
- Process hardware of a developmental, prototype, or critical nature.
- Troubleshoot hardware or assemblies; check and modify chambers or fixtures.
- Conduct tests; monitor, analyze, reduce, and record data.
- Perform mathematical calculations.
- Maintain electronic build records, required data logs, records, and reports in accordance with BATC policies and procedures, and government regulations.
- Implement EHS processes and procedures; recognize safety hazards, including hazardous materials, and pursue corrective action when necessary.
- Demonstrate effective communication and regular interaction with management, customers, and internal / external auditors.
- Complete tasks and communicate effectively within environmental test work centers.
- Deliver work with a keen attention to cost and schedule.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 8 years or more related experience or a related 2-year technical degree and 6 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Working knowledge of thermal and vibration instrumentation including accelerometers, charge amplifiers, signal conditioners, force sensors, oscilloscopes, TRMS voltmeters, and low/high pass filters.
- Familiarity with digital vibration and thermal control systems.
- Good mechanical aptitude with solid dexterity and hand/eye coordination to work with hand tools.
- Solid computer skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel) and basic knowledge of databases.
- Basic Mechanical, Electrical and/or Aerospace knowledge.
- Ability to self-start and be ambitious and conscientious with a very high attention to detail.
- Enjoy working in a process-controlled environment and ability to execute to technical process specifications, procedures and standards.
- General understanding of calibrated equipment is preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment, tooling and fixtures.
Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office, clean room, laboratory, clean room, manufacturing floor or machine shop environment.
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $30.29 - $40.38 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
