SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Technology Coordinator must have a dynamic “CAN DO” perspective to work as part of our in-house Technology Team.  This role will include working with software, hardware, device management, connectivity/networking, and content needs for small, medium, and large-scale experiential events. Project types will include but not be limited to press events, B2B conferences, sports and lifestyle events, mobile tours, virtual events, and tech focused programs. 

The Technology Coordinator is responsible for supporting our client’s digital and technology goals and objectives as well as coordinating with our internal teams on digital and technology focused solutions. Reporting to the Senior Technology Manager, this person will coordinate and execute the setup, deployment, and management of project related software, hardware, networks, apps, and other relevant technology as needed on a per project basis. This will include provisioning, updating, troubleshooting, and managing large inventory of computers, tables, phones, networking hardware, media players and other peripherals as well as working with a team to develop and implement short-term network designsto meet the specific needs of the given project. Applicants should be comfortable sourcing, researching, vetting, and adopting, new event hardware and software. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

PROJECT TECHNOLOGY NEEDS

 Basic networking implementation and set up for live events utilization both preexisting and custom networks.  Including comprehensive research and testing.
 Software and hardware coordination as part of the overall technology plan for a given project. Including comprehensive research and testing.  
 Provisioning of devices to include enrolling, building, and deploying devices using our MDM software – JAMF
 Coordination of both technical and digital elements with onsite network(s) including but not limited to; attendees, staff, AV, registration, Point-Of-Sale and other digital or technical activations requiring network connectivity.

RESEARCH

 Proactively research, organize and build database of vendors/solutions, including compiling estimates, creating cost comparisons and processing purchase orders in an organized & proficient manner.

TECH ROOM/DEVICE MANAGEMENT

 Manage the OBE technology room & device inventory
 Manage ServiceNow technology device requests, and source accordingly from our in-house inventory as well as 3rd party vendors
 Manage internal networking kits and billing that goes along with them (sim cards, maintenance, rentals, etc.)
 General upkeep of OBE technology room

STUDIO MANAGEMENT

 Responsible for master schedule including REMI and OR sessions
 Resourcing internal/external roles, building bench, and confirming availability 
 Scheduling studio maintenance including but not limited to hardware, software, and firmware updates
 General upkeep of room

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

 BS/BA in related field or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE

 Minimum 2 years of experience in event production, AV or IT related fields.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

 Strong knowledge of basic networking setup 
 Experience liaising with network engineers and ISP’s.
 Familiarity with networking gear; Access points, servers, IPs
 Strong technical decision making and live event troubleshooting.
 Proficient in IOS/OSX operations systems
 Experience enabling restrictions and familiarity with accessibility settings on IOS devices.
 Strong knowledge of preparing video for media players, including:
o Video compression
o Video render/export settings
o Video codecs and containers
 General understanding of emerging tech, interest in VR/AR, mixed reality.
 Strong organizational skills, constantly seeking efficiencies.

OTHER QUALITIES AND SKILLS

 Proven experience showing strong judgement, with the ability to proactively identify issues/obstacles and effectively create solutions.
 Solutions oriented, quick thinker who can prioritize work independently as well as within a team environment.
 Ability to coordinate and develop a strong understanding of both POS and registration platforms, including setup and deployment.
 Strong work ethic and ability to thrive and enjoy a VERY fast-paced dynamic teamworkenvironment.
 Flexibility in working non-traditional hours (some nights & weekends), as needed.
 Strong and confident vendor communication, including scheduling meetings, note taking, creating agendas.
 Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. 

Compensation Range: $60,000 - $85,000 annually. This is the pay range OBE believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. OBE reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, Benefits include: medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid basic life and personal accident insurance.
