Technology Correspondent

Reuters is looking for an enterprising Technology Correspondent to generate exclusives and spearhead ambitious stories revealing how the world's most powerful technology companies really work, and how they're transforming the economy.

Based in San Francisco, the correspondent will be a member of the technology companies team helping drive our U.S. tech coverage, producing scoops and enterprise stories. The successful candidate will already have a record of breaking news and uncovering corruption and incompetence, developing sources and mining data to identify and investigate original and important stories.

About the role:

As our Technology Correspondent, you will:

• Collaborate with colleagues based around the world.
• Often lead the reporting effort on ambitious stories and work with reporters from different teams, so flexibility and a collaborative approach are essential.

About You:

You're a fit for the Technology Correspondent, if you have:

• Proven skill at reporting and writing distinctive, ambitious, agenda-setting stories
• Ability to cultivate non-obvious sources and to gain access to exclusive documents
• A track record of original, high-impact story ideas
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Understanding of multimedia elements to enhance stories, from graphics to pictures and video.
• A record of breaking news
• At least 7 years' experience reporting or editing at a major news organization
