Technology Engineer – Client Engineering

As an AI Engineer within our Client Engineering team you’ll harness your unique skills and perspectives to engage in the development and deployment of AI systems using our watsonx platform creating 4-to-6-week pilots for clients and contributing to IBM’s story of growth and innovation.
In this role you’ll partner with technical leaders across IBM and drive client engagements with a curiosity that sparks innovation and learning. Your contributions will form a cornerstone in our sales strategy facilitating rapid client delivery and product innovation.

Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Technology Client Engineering provides speed-to-value and innovation for our clients. We embed the IBM Garage methodology into the sales cycle to co-create and co-execute an initial iteration of an MVP with the purpose to land and grow our hybrid cloud platforms and establish IBM’s technical eminence and expertise with our clients. We are a “demonstration and innovation team” that will prove IBM’s technology and services through co-creation. This Garage experience will validate the particular technology or solution approach that leads to meaningful business outcomes for the client and grows IBM’s hybrid cloud platform.

To be successful in this role of Technology Engineer you will need to:

• Employ IBM’s Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance security quality and stability; ensure that the implemented solutions are unit tested and ready to be integrated into their product
• Demonstrate a growth mindset and continuous learning; stay current on IBM strategy and offerings with understanding of technical principles of Docker and Kubernetes
• Demonstrate strong analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills combined with keen desire to develop quality code in an Agile process
• Design code and test innovative component-level solutions in areas such as cloud foundation cloud services cloud management applications machine learning computational linguistics natural language processing and security applications
• Use DevOps practices and methods to plan and create software applications

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 1 year experience of managing and operating Docker or Kubernetes environment
• Experience with IaC(Infrastructure as a Code) & RESTful APIs
• Experience with opensource/enterprise software deployment/configuration
• Designing and implementing automated dev-ops deployments that implement CI / CD best practices

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience of client facing experience collaborative client relationships
• At least 1 year experience of managing and operating on-premises/CSP IT environments
• Experience with Agile practices in a professional or academic environment
• Demonstratable experience in private or public cloud
