SUMMARY
Leads the technology strategy for the data, architecture, and implementation approach to reengineer monolithic workloads to Cloud Native solutions. Delivers and communicates the vision internally and externally. Develops an evolving implementation plan with appropriate frameworks and support infrastructure to enable product developers to deliver innovative products in support of Black Knight vision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands the strategic direction of the enterprise, assigned business segment(s) and the supporting IT systems and architectures.
- Creates and manages a team of engineers and potentially other managers.
- Works with enterpri architects to produce target state platform, data, and migration strategies.
- Oversees detailed design and implementation plans for delivery teams.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technological trends and utilizes this knowledge to educate both IT and the business on opportunities to build better technology solutions that support and drive business decisions.
- Provides strategic input to the executive management team for the technology direction for the division, business segment and/or enterprise.
- Assists in the definition of the architecture and technology needs of the organization based on new and emerging technologies, and establishes priorities and strategies consistent with business goals and economic viability.
- Establishes foundation architecture for organization to standardize on hardware and software usage. Develops an evolving implementation plan that provides application developers with appropriate frameworks and support infrastructure, enabling them to deliver innovative products consistent with the vision.
- Serves as a consultant and advisor to senior IT leadership on advanced technologies and evaluates the business impact through cost/benefit analysis.
- Recommends and incorporates technology with long-term business plans.
- Transfers knowledge of key learnings throughout the enterprise, and establishes and communicates strategic and technological plans.
- Champions introduction of new architecture assets that have an impact across the enterprise. Directs the requirements, resources, research, business case development and adoption among multiple groups and levels in the enterprise.
- Engages in strategic solution design with cross-functional teams, focusing on integration, best practices and enterprise re-use.
- Reviews and escalates identified architectural risks and interdependencies to applications and products in project implementations and design proposals.
- Anticipates technological trends and introduces changes in development methodologies and modeling techniques into the enterprise.
- Leads the definition of future architecture initiatives for application and deployment systems, and defines the migration path from current to future application architecture.
- Directs the development of design standards for enterprise and system architecture.
- Provides leadership for the creation of new infrastructures, frameworks, and/or design paradigms, maximizing reusability, flexibility and maintainability.
- Provides strategic direction of emerging technology assessment and implementation.
- Leads and develops the technical professionals to ensure career growth and achievement of organizational goals, including interim and annual performance reviews.
- Manages the work efforts of supervisors/individual contributors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- Requires more than seven (7) years of broad and progressively more responsible information technology experience with at least five (5) years of experience managing large, strategic technology projects
- Experience working or interfacing with Mainframe technologies
- Experience working with Big Data Solutions, Data Warehouses and/or Datamarts
- Experience with creating Cloud Native technologies or strategies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledgeable in modern data architecture patterns for distributed and cloud native
- Experience in initiating and leading Proofs of Concept (POC)
- Experience working leading the reengineering monolithic architecture
- Experience with microservices and micro frontend applications
- Experience with any of the Kubernetes based platforms (OpenShift (OCP), EKS/ECS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry)
- Knowledge of financial services industry
- Experience working with Black Knight Data solutions such as MSP
- Thorough understanding of design patterns and their application
- Fluent in developing and understanding concept and context models,
- In-depth knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices
- Experience working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) leveraging Agile principles
- In-depth knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies and trends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences; excellent ability to clearly articulate strategic benefits and value propositions to executives/senior management
- Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
- Proven ability to interact well with all levels of the enterprise
- Ability to mentor others on resource management and lead others through effective and efficient problem solving
