What You'll Do

As a Telecom Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's telecom infrastructure, including wireless devices, broadband orders, ISP interactions, and phone systems. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth telecom operations and optimal cost management.

  • Wireless Device Support: Provide day-to-day support for wireless devices, including smartphones, tablets, and mobile hotspots. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to these devices.
  • Broadband Orders/Setup and ISP Management: Manage broadband orders, installations, and setups. Coordinate with ISPs to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.Ā Resolve any service issues in a timely manner.
  • Support RingCentral and Avaya Phone Systems: Provide support for the company's ZoomCentral and Avaya phone systems,Ā including troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • User Management: Manage user changes/additions within telecom systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date user profiles.
  • Billing and Cost Optimization (Preferred): Assist in managing telecom billing, including identifying and implementing cost-saving measures. Monitor and address overages and billing discrepancies. Support IT procurement as needed.

Who You Are:


  • Installs and supports telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software.
  • Maintains and supports voice mail systems.
  • Plans, analyzes, designs, and develops the telephone system including analog, digital, VoIP, and SIP technologies.
  • Coordinates the installation of telephones and equipment to cables and lines supplied by outside vendors.
  • Makes recommendations concerning efficiency, effectiveness, and planning of departmental telephone systems.
  • Configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user telecommunications hardware, telephony devices and endpoints, and voice/fax/data hardware products.
  • Inspects, tests, and maintains telephone lines, circuits, trunks, and associated wiring and cabling.
  • Collaborates with other telecom engineers, telecom support analysts, and network analysts when problems arise.
  • Monitors and identifies capacity and performance issues for telecommunications traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telecommunications systems.
  • Assists in maintaining current inventories and supporting documentation of telephone equipment owned or leased by the university.
  • Verifies and documents software or hardware failure, repairs, installations, removals, and other work requests.

The TECH Stuff

  • Proven experience in telecom support, particularly with wireless devices and broadband services.
  • Strong understanding of ISP operations and management.
  • Hands-on experience with ZoomCentral and Avaya phone systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in billing management, cost optimization, and IT procurement is preferred but not required.
