Position Summary
Under general direction from the Mission Critical Program Manager and/or Senior Construction Manager, the Project Manager provides management oversight for all phases of a construction project, including project planning, scheduling, task management, coordinating material and equipment, and ensuring that drawings and specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
Principal Accountabilities- This position requires daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities that must be completed in a timely manner.
· Develops cost-effective plans and schedules for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
· Selects and coordinates work of subcontractors on various phases of the projects.
· Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews all architectural and engineering drawings to ensure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
· Ensures proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all permits and licenses necessary. Supervises technicians, reviews their reports and approves timesheets.
· Adheres to the safety program and ensures safety violations are addressed.
· Tracks and controls construction schedule and all associated costs to achieve completion of projects within time frames and budget allowed. Tracks progress and any and all necessary modifications to the plans.
· Interprets regulations and communicates with others; must read detailed blueprints, and establish and maintain effective working relationship with other city employees, commissions and boards, state and local government agencies, contractors, builders and the general public using in-depth knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
· Coaches and directs staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with company goals, objectives and budget.
· Reviews department procedures, staffing and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.
Education, Experience, and Job Requirements- This position requires at least the following minimum requirements:
· Must possess a valid driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Must be physically capable of moving about on substructures work sites and under adverse field conditions.
· Must have excellent mathematical, organizational and detail orientated abilities. Must be able to work well under pressure.
· Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work with others to resolve issues and maintain composure in an environment of changing priorities.
· Must have strong project management principles, interpersonal skills, ability to present ideas in a business and user-friendly language. Must be able to meet and manage stake-holder's expectations.
· Must be able to effectively lead a team of Data Center Technicians.
· Must also have exceptional customer service orientation and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
