About Fresh operates two programs:
- Fresh Truck mobile markets bring affordable, healthy food to Boston neighborhoods;
- Fresh Connect is a prepaid debit card and analytic platform that enables healthcare providers to cover the cost of healthy food for patients and measure related health impacts.
Position Description
About Fresh is in need of temporary administrative and volunteer coordination in the Fresh Truck program. In this position you’ll work closely with the Fresh Truck Program Coordinator to ensure that day-to-day volunteer needs are met, including shift confirmation, responding to questions about locations, and market policies. This position will also answer incoming general phone calls about the Fresh Truck program, market operations, and online order concerns. You will be the first point of contact for Fresh Truck shoppers and community partners over the phone.
This position is in-office 100% during the first 2 weeks of training, with some hybrid flexibility after the initial period.
Position Time Period: January 9, 2022 - March 31, 2022
Workweek: Monday thru Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

What you’ll do
- Day to day support includes entering and ensuring accurate data in Salesforce, managing incoming customer support requests and responding to volunteer, partner and shopper concerns.
- Work with Program Coordinator to support volunteer outreach and remote volunteer management
- Work with the Program Coordinator to update the weekly Volunteer Newsletter to make it engaging and increase volunteer sign-ups
- Work with the Program Coordinator to engage and support the Community Engagement Representatives and strengthen the Community Engagement Program.
- Work with Program Coordinator to support Pop-Up planning and outreach.
- Work with the Online Retail Coordinator to offer top-notch, customer service phone support
- Work with the Online Retail Coordinator to manage data and online ordering systems

Who you are
- Bilingual highly preferred (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole)
- Local to Boston and familiar with Boston neighborhoods, especially neighborhoods where Fresh Truck hosts Mobile Markets: Dorchester, Roxbury, Hyde Park and Roslindale.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure, especially during peak hours or intense situations
- Ability to listen to concerned or upset customers and respond in a professional manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Fresh Truck team members in order to hand a call over in an efficient manner.
- Proficient in MS Office or Google Drive and call center equipment/software programs, phone systems, etc
- Ability to adjust schedules to meet customer needs and solve their problems effectively
- Natural relationship builder with high energy and excellent communication skills
- Self-starting with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive, service mentality, and ability to work autonomously and in a multicultural, multifunctional team
- A curious and proactive problem solver who is eager to learn new things
- Exceptionally organized and extremely attentive to detail, with planning, and prioritization skillsÂ
COVID Requirements
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
About Fresh requires its Colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated.
- If you are vaccinated, you are required to have received at least one COVID-19 shot prior to your first day of employment and to provide proof of your vaccination status within the first 30 days of your employment. For the two COVID-19 shot regimen, you will be required to provide proof of your second COVID-19 shot within the first 60 days of your employment. Failure to provide timely proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will result in the termination of your employment with About Fresh.
- If you are unable to be fully vaccinated due to disability, medical condition, pregnancy, or religious belief, you will be required to apply for a reasonable accommodation within the first 30 days of your employment in order to remain employed with About Fresh. As a part of this process, you will be required to provide information or documentation about the reason you cannot be vaccinated. If your request for an accommodation is not approved, then your employment may be terminated.
