Your Role and Responsibilities
Teradata Development:

• Design develop and implement Teradata-based solutions to support business intelligence and data warehousing needs.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries stored procedures and scripts for data extraction transformation and loading (ETL).
• Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Performance Tuning:

• Analyze and optimize the performance of existing Teradata systems focusing on query performance indexing and partitioning strategies.
• Implement workload management and resource allocation strategies to enhance system efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
• Perform regular database health checks and fine-tuning to maintain peak performance.

Architecture & Optimization:

• Design and refine the Teradata architecture to support evolving business needs ensuring scalability reliability and high availability.
• Lead optimization initiatives including capacity planning data model redesign and infrastructure upgrades.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in data architecture security and governance.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Monitor system performance using Teradata Viewpoint and other tools identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Provide expert-level support for troubleshooting and resolving complex database and performance-related problems.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with IT data engineering and business intelligence teams to align data strategies with business objectives.
• Document all processes configurations and architectural decisions to ensure knowledge sharing and support continuity.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of Teradata architecture including parallel processing indexing and data distribution.
• Expertise in Teradata tools and utilities such as BTEQ FastLoad MultiLoad TPT and Viewpoint.
• Strong SQL programming skills and experience with query optimization techniques.
• Ability to design and implement scalable high-performance data solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Certifications : Teradata Certified Professional (TCPP) or similar certification is highly desirable.
