Test Automation Engineer
Job Description
ASRC Federal is seeking a Test Automation Engineer/Scrum Masterto join the Department of Homeland Security Team, providing support to recent Transportation Security Administration contract.
The right candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience including as a Test Automation Engineer supporting enterprise applications.
You are a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer who will implement automation test for various Java-based solutions for the customer that will range from enterprise web applicationsIdeal candidate preferably has a bachelor's degree in computer science and experience with various test automation frameworks and test automation tools, especially for java applications, and backend test automation.You should also be comfortable using automation platforms such as GitLab and be able to automate tests, build and deployment processes integrated into an autonomous CI/CD pipeline.
Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid / at least 2 days onsite in Reston, VA, remote other days.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, creating, and implementing test automation for Java-based applications.
- Interpreting briefs to test and verify high-quality coding that functions according to specifications.
- Determining application functions and building test objectives with the team.
- Ensuring that written code falls in line with the project objectives.
- Problem solving with other team members in the project.
- Identifying and resolving immediate and potential issues with applications.
- Drafting detailed reports on the work performed and projects completed.
- Participating in group meetings to discuss projects and objectives.
- Assisting other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding.
- Meeting deadlines on fast-paced deliverables.
- Significant coding skills in Java, with other languages being a major plus
- Knowledge of current frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and libraries
- Meet DHS software compliance standards
- Work towards full automation of test, build, deployment, and monitoring processes
- Design and engineer a robust CI/CD pipeline in Gitlab environment
- Research and develop the use of new technologies and standards as needed
- Provide metrics to support and demonstrate DevSecOps maturation
- Deliver enhanced functionality and provide continuous support within the scheduled time
- Identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
Requirements:
- MUST be a US Citizen, preferably with an active DHS public trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering field is preferred
- A minimum of 7 years' relevant experience
- Test Automation Expert with hands on experience implementing automation test frameworks in complex enterprise systems
- Experience with Java, Gitlab suite, DevOps, and DevSecOps
- Knowledge of application frameworks especially Spring Boot and .NET
- Knowledge of development tools including Eclipse, Visual Studio, and Git.
- Prior relevant experience should include working with Software Development Life Cycle in classic of agile environment.
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ability to simplify technical information for effective written and verbal communication
- Ability and willingness to work with variety of emerging technologies/tools as opportunities demand
- Familiarity with Scrum, Lean, Agile, and Kanban
- Experience with test frameworks, Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, etc.
