Test Automation Engineer, Lead

The ideal candidate will act as the critical interface between Ground Software developers, QA, and Product teams on seamless integration of our automation testing
Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Cypress for web application testing.
• Lead the creation and execution of automated test cases, scripts, and scenarios to ensure quality assurance across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Lead testing subject matter expertise for the Ground Software Department.
• Coordinate with SRE/DevOps on continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) processes to ensure integration of automated tests are efficient with development workflows.
• Collaborate with QA, Product, and development teams to identify testing requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business objectives and user needs.
• Mentor engineers in test automation practices, including effective use of tools, test strategy development, and quality assurance principles.
• Conduct code reviews of automated tests to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Analyze test results, identify issues and trends, and recommend improvements to enhance software quality and test efficiency.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in test automation technologies and methodologies to continuously improve testing practices.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in test automation with a strong focus on web application testing.
• Proven expertise in using Cypress for developing and executing automated tests.
• In-depth knowledge of unit testing principles and experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and experience testing web applications across different browsers and platforms
• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong leadership skills and experience mentoring team members.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with the following technologies and tools:
• Cypress for integration and end-to-end test automation.
• Unit testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Jasmine.
• CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Version control systems, preferably Git.
• Programming languages relevant to web development, primarily JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Docker or similar containerization technologies for test environment management.
• Experience with issue tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
