Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in software development, hardware debug, or test engineering.
  • Experience working with security policy/process, servers, or network hardware.
  • Experience with Python software development, coding, input output systems (BIOS) and operating systems (OS).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Experience with operating system configuring and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with cloud platform software development.
  • Experience working in security or software development teams.
  • Experience in testing products for manufacturing, working with partner or contract manufacturing (ODM, OEM, JDM).

As a Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for providing ongoing software development support to lead cyber security activities with external manufacturing partners and internal Google test development teams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Plan and define the security hardening process and provide instructions to Contract Manufacturers (North America). Collaborate with internal and partner engineers and managers to drive test and security improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to debug security issues.
  • Manage operating systems upgrades and provide support for periodic hardening updates, network security, remote access, and system admin of test stations.
  • Work with Python test scripts based on test specifications.
  • Perform root cause analysis of system test failures and implement corrective or preventive actions.
