Test Engineer

As Test Engineer, you will work in tandem with the software development team to validate, document, test, and deploy applications making a positive impact on millions of Americans' daily lives.You’ll work with various teams, contractors and clients to ensure that our work is scalable, deployable and of the highest quality (no pun intended…).  

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide technical guidance and expertise to team members and/or colleagues.
• Work with Software Engineers, System Engineers, and DevOps Engineers in the correction of any defects found.
• Guide and implement strategies to help engineering and leadership make quick and decisive decisions.
• Build and implement test reports, communicating the results to multiple stakeholders.
• Make decisions based on strategy and context, and roll out changes as needed to boost efficiency.

We are looking for someone with the following skill set: 

• 5+ years working within a technical product team as a QA Engineer
• Experience testing authentication frameworks such as OAuth or SAML
• Experience testing in rails, react, iOS, and Android
• API Driven Testing Experience. Expertise on developing test automation and working with HTTP APIs, such as REST, GraphQL or gRPC
• Distributed solutions. Experience in setting up and working on distributed systems like Amazon Web Services Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, K8s
• Experience in building/improving test automation frameworks. 5+ years experience developing test automation in Rails, Ruby, React, or Elixir. Ability to triage and fix complex issues in highly distributed environments and platforms while recommending corrective action. Developing backend and frontend automation, analyzing test results to ensure quality products and quality user experiences.
• Develop/research automation tools used to improve the test coverage efficiency and sufficiency. Develop and evolve test frameworks, tools, infrastructure, and CI systems. System/critical thinking and big picture mentality are important.
• Proficient in SCMS - Github, Gitlab and CI-CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, etc. Develop and evolve test frameworks, tools, infrastructure, and CI systems
• Expert at developing test plans, developing functional and end-to-end automated tests using Python, Selenium/Cypress, or equivalent solutions
• Extensive experience in test automation frameworks like pytest, Selenium, or Go testing frameworks like Gingko
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe. 

Must be located within the United States.  

This is a full time, remote position. Oddball offers a tech and continuing education stipend. This role requires the ability to obtain a low level security clearance.
