Test Engineer

Job Summary:

Designs, develops, and implements cost effective methods for testing equipment and test processes for Networking products (Hardware) in a manufacturing environment. Write and update PCBA/System test procedures and test scripts for new and existing product(s). Interface with Hardware and Software development groups in the early stages of New Product Introduction (NPI).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and implementing hardware test strategy in manufacturing Networking products to assure adequate manufacturing test coverage is provided.

Will be responsible for the manufacturing test process, test equipment requirements, Failure analysis and Production support.

Will be working with Hardware and Software Development Engineering groups throughout the design phase and will be responsible for the hardware DFT Methodology and support.

Experience, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience in copper and fiber high-speed data communication products and protocols. Digital/Analog/Mixed signal failure analysis experience desirable.
• Must have detailed knowledge of the Hardware development, Manufacturing Test Processes and Test Equipment requirements.
• Strong programming skills in C, C+, Visual Basic or other related programming languages.
• Must be professional and courteous and have strong written, oral, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work fairly independently, receiving a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance.
• Must be able to maintain professional demeanor during stressful situations.
• Able to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency with MS Office applications.

Education / Training:

BSEE plus 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Test Engineer.

• Normal office environment with moderate noise level, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching.
• Ability to perform consistent work on a PC.
• Ability to sit, use keyboard and/or telephone 8+ hours / day, 5 days / week.
