Summary of job contents

The Test Engineer provides detailed testing methods for complex test cases to reduce project risks and develop product specifications through project planning and documentation of test results. Responsibilities include planning, developing and conducting tests on components and customer specific solutions to check whether the technical requirements are met.

Key accountabilities

• Executes and develops new robust test methods to quantify key attributes in developing product specification throughout the development process
• Execution of varying types (mechanical, electrical, liquid) of complex test cases (functional tests, endurance tests, EMC, certifications, )
• Analyzes system / application architecture seeking to identify additional testing entry points to reduce project risk
• Design and execute experiments for the purpose of root cause analysis in coordination with various technical experts
• Perform detailed project planning and documentation of test results and reports
• Build and test prototype designs for proof of concept
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and services
• Ensure compliance with relevant company, national and international standards (e.g., ISO, EMC)

Core dimensions

• Above average Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical discipline
• Generally 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Technology concepts, technical standards and methodologies in the life science sector
• Extensive knowledge of key tools used for analysis, testing and development for liquid handling systems
• Experience in multiple programming languages and tools a plus
• Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated strong documentation and organization skills
• Understanding of mathematical modeling techniques and an understanding of statistics including design of experiments are important. Knowledge of statistical control, Six Sigma, and other design for excellence method will are a strong plus

Knowledge/skills/experience

• Language skills: English fluent
• Computer skills: NI TestStand, NI LabView, Programmable Logic Controller / CodeSys, C#
• Education: Bachelor's degree in technical discipline, Master's degree is a plus
• Experience: 3+ years
• Special experience in industry: LifeScience, Laboratory Automation or Medical Devices are a plus
• Special experience in function: Extensive knowledge of Technology concepts, technical standards and methodologies in the life science sector, key tools used for analysis, testing and development for liquid handling systems, experience in multiple programming languages and tools a plus
