Test Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Implement and maintain safe and reliable testing methods and procedures as required to support

material and product requirements. Involvement includes project management, machine design,

reliability of data, programming, and instrumentation. Work as a liaison between the Functional Test

Lab and the engineering and customer requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead test development and implementation for new test equipment, methods, procedure, and associated documentation to ensure that physical, environmental, and functional tests are reliable, safe, and meet customer requirements. Design, develop and lead the implementation of computerized and instrumented testing applications, integrating technology with customers, suppliers, and other plants.
• Coach and provide technical support to the lab in all testing operations, training, troubleshooting, programming, design, and calibrations.
• Direct and coordinate continuous improvements in testing methods, capabilities and productivity. Provide technical support to other Tenneco personnel and facilities by assisting in testing issues and correlations.
• Keep current and implement technical advances that can be employed to increase reliability, reduce cost and advance engineering methods.
• Follow all company policies and procedures such as the quality management system, KPI, and Environmental Health and Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• A strong mechanical aptitude with prior experience with equipment set-up / operation / maintenance / calibration.
• Excellent computer, spreadsheet, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills required (written, oral and presentation).
