Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Future Long Range Attack Aircraft (FLRAA) under the Future Vertical Lift (FLV) program within Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO AVN).
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Test Engineer for an Aviation Project Office
- Supports the development of the Test Strategy and/or Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and participate/lead the T&E Working Integrated Product Team (IPT).
- Supports the development of test and evaluation input into Milestone documentation such as the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Systems Specification, Performance Work Statement (PWS) and/or Statement of Work (SoW).
- Support test planning with the OEM and the Government Test Agencies to include ATEC and its subordinates for developmental and operational test events to include Live Fire Test & Evaluation (LFTE).
- Participates and/or leads T&E WIPT sub-working groups such as LFTE, Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE), RAM, test Modeling and Simulation, etc.
- Coordinates the review, adjudication, and staffing of test and evaluation documentation. Provides status to program Leadership as required.
- Provides input into program briefings for test and evaluation.
- Supports test events at the OEM facilities to include test witnessing, and test plan/report reviews.
- Supports test strategy development and coordination for the Program of Record to include all aspects of test planning/execution/reporting. Perform data analysis and evaluate test results from modeling and simulation and component, subsystem, system, and aircraft level testing with special focus on LFTE and ASE test results.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering and minimum of 8 years' experience in Test and Evaluation for an Aviation program.
- Test engineering experience on a complex ACAT I acquisition program.
- Preferred test engineering experience on Aircraft Survivability Equipment.
- Preferred test engineering experience on LFTE.
- Preferred experience working on Aviation development programs.
- Experience developing a Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DoDI 5000.02, and OSD Test and Evaluation Policies and Guidance.
- Experience working Army Aviation Airworthiness Qualification Plans (AQP) and Airworthiness Qualification Substantiation (AQS) or equivalent for other Services or Commercial Aviation.
- Experience working with Aviation OEMs on the development of test plans/procedures/reports.
- Experience working with or at Redstone Test Center on test planning/test execution of aircraft system and component level testing.
- Skills, Competencies and Abilities:
- Ability to manage complex development and engineering projects, work effectively with others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work as part of a team conducting test planning, test execution, technical projects, or problem resolution.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships and rapport with subordinate, peer, and management personnel within the home organization and with contemporary organizations and contract partners.
