Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Test Engineer - Failure Analysis located in Milpitas, CA.

Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer - Failure Analysis is responsible for determining rapid root cause analysis for issues that we see from our Mfg. process and from the customer return units (RMA). Analyzes and interprets test data and product performance and prepares technical advice for repair. Analyzes and interprets test data and product performance with proper evidence of design related Failure analyze Report. Applying in array of failure analysis techniques in consumer products.

What a typical day looks like:

• Use Electrical Testing and diagnostic Equipment to test and troubleshoot complex Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and Electromechanical Assemblies.
• Resolves test yield problems by performing analysis of root causes, developing, and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
• Analyzes and interprets test failures data and prepares technical reports for use by SW & HW engineering, management, and customer.
• Trains and instructs floor support, debug technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, failures solutions as well as proper problem-solving techniques.
• Analyze circuits and topologies to identify marginal issues or compatibility issues between components
• Issue timely test reports summarizing results, deviations, and present recommendations for potential improvements.
• Provide technical documentation and tools for diagnostic purpose.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Minimum B.S. in Electrical and Electronic engineering.
• Typically requires 8 years of experience in PCBA/System Test and Circuit Failure Analysis engineering in the advanced technology industry.
• Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret electrical circuit schematic, block diagram, component data sheets and its applications
• Ability to effectively communicate technically with technical personnel in the organizations and to the customer.
• Knowledge of electrical tools and methods like Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, TDR, curve tracers, Thermal Imaging (FLIR and Lock-in Thermography), for fault isolation.
• Statistical Analysis capability: able to work with data and analyze for trend and present to management and customer.
• Knowledge of reliability testing to relate failure from reliability test failure preferred.
