Test Engineer II

Job Description

Summary: Provide general technical support to the Test Department by executing diagnostic tests to verify functionality of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learn and apply technical skills related to mechanical and electrical HVAC systems toward establishing new test methods for new product development engineering activities.
• Attend AAH, ATS, NVH or Metrology team meeting to ensure testing expectations are clearly defined and communicated cross functionally.
• Manage and maintain test schedules.
• Create technical project plans for new or upgrades to existing capital test equipment.
• Coordinate activities with product engineers and a team of technicians.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Develop and issue test procedures.
• Apply an advanced level of computer literacy in the areas of engineering systems software, graphics, presentations, and multimedia. Train others in the use of advanced computer skills.
• Operate test standards as needed. Analyze and interpret data from test results.
• Provide primary technical knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines:
  • accelerated testing of mechanical and electrical systems and machines
  • sound and vibration testing
  • metrology
  • characterization of cleaning performance
  • reliability growth methods
  • regulatory and compliance testing
  • statistical methods
  • measurement systems analysis
  • design of experiments
  • software and embedded systems testing
  • others as defined by need

• Execute testing programs to quantify the performance and reliability of critical and/or new technologies and designs.
• Provide technical oversight as required to general testing activities to ensure the highest level of quality and integrity of result.
• Review and approve internal testing standards.
• Identify new testing methodologies and recommend incorporation into existing McQuay testing methods and procedures.
• Continuously develops existing technical expertise and expands into other areas as needs of the organization dictate.
• Frequently use hand tools as needed to perform specialized tests, troubleshoot/repair equipment, etc.

Qualifications:

• 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience demonstrating success and progressive responsibility in engineering role required.
• LabVIEW and EPA refrigerant certification preferred.
