Test Engineering Intern
Job Description
- Basic test lab activities including vibration testing, instrumentation, electrical wiring, etc.
- Document test reports and maintain integrity of test data
- Focused design of experiments project to quantify differences in failure modes between automotive components shaken in free-air vs. enclosed within various liquids (coolant, engine oil, gear oil, etc.)
- Work with Test Engineering on development of test fixtures and test setups
- Work with Design Engineering to equate real world results with computer modeling
- Assist with other engineering projects as needed
Special Skills:
- Hands on, labwork, instrumentation
- Understanding of natural frequencies and modal analysis
- Shaker table experience a plus.
Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision
- Working knowledge of electrical schematics and DC power electronics
- Working knowledge of Refrigeration cycle, HVAC components and heat transfer calculations
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program
- Majors: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
