Test Specialist Automation

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Test Specialist at IBM your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we’re delivering the best of the best. Come work in an agile environment where you will help each iteration reach the next level. Whether the testing is manual automated or cognitive you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike. In your role you may be responsible for:

Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium Protractor Katalon Cucumber etc.
Create test data and test environments
Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution
Identify understand and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program application or set of applications
Do a deep-dive and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Ideal candidates will have experience with:

• WebdriverIO framework (typescript) with Cucumber BDD. There will be a significant amount of interaction with the DOM and DOM elements.
• Understanding of design patterns like Page object model singleton design.
• Clear understanding of source code repository (i.e. github/bitbucket). Including GIT commands branching strategy pull request reviews debug code
• CI/CD understanding. DevOps best practices on how to integrate regression testing on a github action pipeline
• CLEAR communication. Candidate will be expected to present demos clarify business workflows detail requirements and collaborate with the Salesforce agile team daily.
• Maintenance and delivery of automated reporting solution to provide transparency to the team.
• Remediation of issues using engineering principles devising design solutions to preempt potential failures.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in software with a focus on testing automation
• Proficiency in at least 1 major programming languages (e.g. Java Python Typescript)
• Familiar with Cloud services REST API testing
• Strong understanding in the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and strategies.
• Proficiency with automation tools (e.g. Cypress Mocha WDIO) build and CI/CD tools (e.g. Github Jenkins Maven) for end-to-end testing scenarios.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
