Test Technician

Vast's Test Technician will support ongoing propulsion testing and advance the development of our Orbiter spacecraft. In this role, you will be working under the direction of the Testing Team Lead to test Orbiter’s bi-propellant engine, 3D printed propellant tanks and pressure components, and structural components (TVC, Separation Ring, etc.). This person will be supporting the build and reiteration of current and future test stands and preparing propellants, equipment, and vehicles for testing. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with high pressure fluid systems involving pressurized cylinders, regulators, tanks, valves, tubing, fittings, and other plumbing elements.
• Ability to read and create Plumbing & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Ability to work as a teammate and independently to achieve ambitious goals.
• Purchasing and sourcing. 
• Experience working with/building a pressurized test stand.
• Experience following/developing testing and safety procedures.
• Experience working with Ethane or N2O or similar propellants.
• Hands-on prototyping.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn new skills.

Additional Requirements 

• Valid driver’s license and confident with driving a truck towing a trailer or other equipment.
• Able to lift 50lbs unassisted.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment exposed to extreme weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to a varying schedule.
