Therapies Operations Summer Analyst

Tempus is seeking a highly qualified Undergraduate Summer Analyst to work with us for the summer of 2023. We are looking for people who can change the world.

As a Summer Intern at Tempus, you will:

• Apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiences
• Work on comprehensive, value-added project(s) that help enhance the fields of science and technology 
• Collaborate with teams/colleagues in a fast-paced environment 
• Gain professional development & build relationships with peers from across the country 

Anticipated Summer Project(s):

• Project #1: Patient Demographic Analysis of the TIME Network 
• The Therapies Operations intern will analyze trends of various key factors (e.g. enrollment rate in various regions of the USA) in our network to determine areas for improvement. 
• This project will be in partnership with various members across the team to allow the intern to learn about various aspects of the business and how they impact our core program. 
• Project #2: Operations Review Support 
• Over the course of this summer the Therapies Operations intern will aid in the restructuring of various operational workflows. This will consist of tasks such as; 
• Evaluating and improving the trial-matching processes including documentation and the organization of documents and templates
• Maintaining the highest quality standard through rigorous QA process to identify and correct mistakes and inconsistencies in abstracted data and documented workflows

Qualifications: 

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree (undergraduate completion in summer of 2024) in an analytical or healthcare related field with a strong interest in oncology, cancer genomics, molecular biology and/or clinical trials
• Experience with SQL (basic or intermediate), Excel (intermediate), and Looker (nice to have, not needed)
• Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings and media.
• Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Google Suite and Gmail, preferred.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with others in a fast-paced environment is critical. Be ready to fly the plane as you’re still building it!

Additional Details:

• You will spend 8 or 10 weeks working in our Chicago office.
• The internship will be a hybrid, onsite 3 days/week with the option to work remotely the remaining days.
• The program will run in two waves, commencing June/July and running through August/September (dependent upon your school calendar and availability).
• A competitive hourly wage will be provided for the summer employment and a relocation bonus to help offset some of the relocation costs and resources to help you find housing.
