Job Title
Threat Analyst
Location
Alabama - Huntsville - Huntsville, AL 35802 US (Primary)
Job Description
Torch Technologies is currently seeking a senior-level threat analyst to support our MDA/SEU Systems Verification team, who has been designated the MDA modeling and simulation accreditation agent. Specifically, the candidate will be performing threat model verification and validation (V&V) analysis to assess suitability for defined "intended uses" in Hardware-in-the-Loop [HWIL] and all digital Missile Defense System (MDS) simulation testing environments. In addition to ballistic missiles, one area of growing interest is conventional and hypersonic cruise missiles
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience and 12-15 years related experience.
- Some experience with Optical Signature Code (OSC) electro-optical / infrared (EO/IR) signature modeling in order to facilitate working with new features (e.g., non-axisymmetric shapes, hypersonic flowfield heating, etc.) being added to address this type of threat.
- A background in analyzing threat kinematic and radar cross section (RCS) characteristics, with direct cruise missile experience desired.
- A SECRET clearance is required, but a TOP SECRET clearance is a plus. The higher clearance level will allow involvement in the Joint Threat Modeling Program (JTMP), a collaborative effort between MDA and the Intelligence Production Centers (IPCs) to build validated threat models for ground tests. It is expected that cruise missiles will be included in the JTMP process in the near future, so a candidate who is familiar with their performance behaviors will provide important / useful knowledge supporting the model evaluation.
- Ability to develop scripts in Python or MATLAB is desired as building specialized tools is required to perform the team's analysis and assessments.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system is a definite asset. The candidate should be able to work in an open, collaborative environment and have good written / spoken communication skills.
