THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (MI 127th ARG), Position Description Number NGD1818000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.

Conditions of Employment
- AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a Michigan Air National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
- Must have a valid civilian driver's license.
Qualifications

Military Grades: E5 - E7
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Months Required: 36
Experience, education, or training involving a thorough knowledge of product or range of products involved, the manufacturing methods and techniques, special processes, test, and performance requirements; and skill in developing plans and programs. Experience possessed by an expert in specialization able to give technical direction to otherwise competent workers. Experience determining operations when difficult and questionable phases of malfunctions are found. Experience which required significant and concrete work accomplishments (i.e., special projects, working groups, or detailing assignments) involving interpersonal contacts in a quality assurance or related field. Experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for the function required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved.
Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Examples include:
- Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements.
- Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans.
- Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system.
- Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
- Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action.
- Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
- Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities.
- Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.
- Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.
Education
You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for this position IF you don't have the required specialized experience:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
