Summary
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION

- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Selectee will not be appointed untill investigation is complete.
- Will be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance, AND, as a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to assignment.
- Direct Deposit is mandatory.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- The agency will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request of the agency a legally required exception from this requirement.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.

If choosing to certify based of the education substitution option, you must upload a word document stating you are using the education substitution option, your degree and transcript OR the Military Courses completed. If these are not uploaded you will not be referred to the selecting Supervisor.

CATEGORY A: Qualified, currently employed permanent Title 5 Federal Employees at the location specified on this job announcement.
CATEGORY B: Qualified, currently employed permanent Title 5 Federal Employees of the West Virginia National Guard (Army and/or Air).
CATEGORY C: Qualified, currently employed permanent Federal Technicians (T32) or Federal Employees (T5) within the West Virginia National Guard (Army and/or Air).
CATEGORY D: Qualified, current Federal Employees (from any agency) or Federal re-employable eligibles.
CATEGORY E: All U.S. Citizens
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Title 5 Excepted Service - Permanent
Permanent Change of Station: PCS funds are not available for this position.
Incentives: Relocation and Recruitment Incentives may be authorized for this position.

Documentation is required to award preference of any kind. An SF-50 is NOT sufficient to adjudicate preference.
