Job Description

About Netskope

Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security.

Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Melbourne, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events (pre and hopefully post-Covid) and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive.  Visit us at Netskope Careers. About the role

The Observability team works on some of the most challenging problems in cloud-scale observability, with a mission to achieve the highest standards of customer success. We build the tools and infrastructure used by every engineering team to develop, debug, scale and monitor the services that form the backbone of the Netskope Security Cloud Platform.

What’s in it for you

This team aims to unify the tools to collect, process, store, and analyze large volumes of telemetry data in real time. You will closely work with a group of accomplished engineers and with open-source technology.

What you will be doing

Operating a reliable global service requires good observability and automation. We are looking for a passionate engineering manager with experience in designing, implementing, and operating large scale distributed systems and excels at collaborating with partners. Ideally, you have a background in request tracing systems, time series telemetry platforms, application performance management tools or log management tools.

This position is a manager role reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering.

  • Passionate, curious, creative, self-starter and approach problems with right methodology and intelligent decisions.
  • Laser focus on impact, balancing effort to value, and getting things done.
  • To be successful, you’ll need to be deeply technical and capable of holding your own with other strong peers.
  • Top notch written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Observability team is an integral part of the Netskope that provides key insights for all development teams to quickly detect and remediate incidents to ensure the highest availability of Netskope products for our customers.
  • This Observability team owns the entire telemetry stack starting with the agents that emit, collect and ship telemetry to large-scale backend systems that store data and enable efficient and low-latency queries to provide valuable insights.
  • Bring your technical chops to drive your teams to success around feature delivery and live-site management for a complex cloud infrastructure service.
  • Technical mentorship and direction setting for the team.
  • You’ll be challenged to blend customer-centric principles, industry-changing innovation, and the reliable delivery of new technologies.
  • Contribute into the code and infrastructure to make them more robust and feature rich.
