Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. - Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid California driverβs license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires evening and weekend work.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
Physical Demands: Work requires considerable walking and some prolonged standing, may be required to bend, stoop, and kneel in performance of duty. Frequently lifts and carries tools that weigh up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh over 40 pounds. Occasionally it will be necessary to perform work in inclement weather and temperature extremes. Incumbent must be able to recognize color identification for electrical wiring, etc.
Work Environment: Most work is performed inside buildings with concrete floors and in moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Occasionally work is performed in other maintenance shops when performing periodic maintenance checks. Incumbent is subject to minor cuts and bruises while operating machinery and is exposed to dirt, oil, grease, and cleaning solvent/fumes. Incumbent is required to wear safety shoes, glasses, and other appropriate equipment in performance of work. Incumbent is exposed to normal hazards associated with construction work and industrial operations and weather conditions.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
