Position Title: 2nd Shift Toolroom Leadman (3:45pm-11:45pm)

Focus:
Leadman is responsible for overseeing workers in the Toolroom. Will take on a leadership role and coordinate with supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Responsible for training and mentoring workers, as well as evaluating their performance. Have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively with workers and management to achieve company goals. Must be knowledgeable in their work and able to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Responsibilities:

• Assign work assignments and track progress to make sure deadlines and schedules are met in a safe and productive manner.
• Assist in troubleshooting and solving technical problems.
• Analyze tooling breakdowns and implement appropriate repairs.
• Train new employees, apprentices and other employees of the tool room.
• Responsible for overall safety, housekeeping, and machine maintenance within the department on their shift.
• Responsible for tracking work orders and collaborating with workers on job status.
• Oversee that work performed by employees is accurate.
• Work and communicate well with management and co-workers.
• Taking inventory of toolroom supplies and equipment on a regular basis to ensure they are in good working order. 

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of progressive stamping dies, die cast mold designs and machining.
• 5-10 years’ experience working with building, repairing, and troubleshooting progressive stamping dies and zinc die cast or injection molds.
• Working knowledge of all toolroom related equipment and machinery (conventional machines, CNC, EDM, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of metallurgy and steel proprieties.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills.

Education:

• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Completion of Journeyman program, Machining Vocational Technical program, or equivalent experience.

Environment:
100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise and machinery running.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
