About the role

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Through a deep knowledge of all client business, people, and organizational needs, the HRBP supports clients by effectively diagnosing complex issues, recommending solutions, and engaging the appropriate resources to provide HR services that support business goals. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related matters and acts as an employee and company culture champion and change agent.  The HRBP will also focus on owning, supervising, and enhancing total rewards.

Your responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of meaningful organization and talent review processes and ensure effective talent management initiatives (retention planning, succession planning, performance and calibration programs, talent development planning).
  • Manage the design, development, and rollout of HR programs.
  • Lead total rewards program.
  • Assess the effective delivery of HR programs and services for client groups.
  • Coach and counsel management on strategic projects, department goals, HR policies, and programs.
  • Ensure that optimal conclusions are drawn by leaders, talent, and other stakeholders through influencing, coaching, and providing subject matter expertise and sound strategies.
  • Lead timely and appropriate discussions with leaders regarding organization design issues within different client groups and guide organizational change practices and actions.
  • Effectively collaborate with HR (Talent Acquisition, HR Operations) when developing and implementing strategies and programs to attract, develop, reward, and retain exceptional talent.
  • Design, develop, and implement communication strategies to introduce new HR programs and company initiatives. Ensure effective communication strategies are in place within their clients and build two-way communication channels.
  • Manage complex employment relations issues and provide general communication coaching to leaders. Guide leaders to have timely, critical conversations and ensure the appropriate management of conflict.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen the HR/TA team’s role in client organizations and help implement best practices.
  • Provide operational HR services and support, including talent acquisition, job analysis, benefits administration, and addressing employees’ queries (e.g., compensation and labor regulations).

You have 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) and a minimum of 8 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Progressive functional experience in human resources.
  • Supervision and management of one or more HR functions.
  • A demonstrated history of success in supporting client groups in a Generalist role.
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, can educate and influence through formal and informal communications.
  • Recognition of the importance of being highly responsive to the needs of senior management, colleagues, and staff.
  • Knowledgeable of related employment laws, concepts, and practices related to administering various human resources programs.
  • Adept understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of specialty as well as general experience and knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Expert-level fluency with Google slides and Google sheets.
  • CCP certification preferred.

Flexible remote & onsite work

Our teams work from many different locations and time zones. We support fully remote work and also have an amazing in-person environment in our downtown Palo Alto, CA HQ. 

Fully paid parental leave

Point will true-up wages from state-applicable PFL earnings so that the employee’s total gross pay will be equivalent to 100% of their regular base pay, as well as two weeks of fully paid leave to be available after exhaustion of state PFL. 

For employees in states without Paid Family Leave, Point will provide up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave. 

In addition, all employees will receive 4 weeks of fully paid transition time. For four weeks after returning from parental leave, and following the use of all other paid leave benefits, you may work part-time, meaning two or three days per week, and receive 100% of regular base pay.

The expected base salary range for Professional roles (e.g. Finance, Marketing, Human Resources) at this level within Point is $115,200 to $216,000 per year. This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including equity, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role and level utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the offer stage we use  the signal we received from our interviews coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors to determine final compensation.
