Trade Analyst

Koch Energy Services is seeking a contribution-minded Trade Analyst to join our Finance, Accounting and Risk organization, directly supporting our growing Natural Gas supply and marketing business.

Candidate will partner with commercial and financial groups alike and analyze regional positions, daily profit/loss reporting, and risk deployed in the market to influence and maximize business outcomes!

The role of a Trade Analyst focuses on partnering with business to better understand strategies and risk deployed in our regional portfolios and aids the business with analyzing margin trends, market drivers, working capital, business risks, and many other aspects! We want contribution-minded people leveraging their expertise to maximize business value!

This position will be based in Wichita, KS, with a hybrid work environment (ability to work remote 2 days/week).

What You Will Do

Business Partnership:

• Leverage your expertise to initiate trusted and actionable insights.
• Develop deep commercial relationships with traders and commercial leaders.
• Communicate and partner regularly with diverse internal capabilities such as finance/accounting, risk, IT, and compliance teams to impact business outcomes.
• Keep up with ever-changing POV and strategies underlying physical and financial positions.
• Identify and analyze portfolio market risk (as well as stress-case scenario analysis).

Trade Support/Controls:

• Oversee applicable internal controls from trade capture through position/valuation/risk reporting in a rapidly changing and hyper volatile environment.
• Review trade activity for accurate deal capture and modeling within trade capture system.
• Analyze market positions against established risk authorities.
• Reporting of daily/monthly/quarterly financial results and articulate key drivers.

Transformation:

• Identify, recommend, and implement scalable process improvements to advance our capability using sustainable technology solutions.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related Business field
• Professional experience in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Market Analysis or Trade Support related roles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; with functional skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in Commodity or Energy trading markets
• Proficient with BI Tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx
• Experience with process improvement / process transformation
