Trade Compliance Specialist

What will you be doing?The Trade Compliance Specialist supports Velocity’s trade compliance program by coordinating import and export transactions globally. This position includes working with an international team supporting all aspects of Trade Compliance in order to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes
In addition, you will also be expected to:
- Coordinate global import/export transactions
- Restricted Party List (RPL) and Denied Parties List (DPL) Screening
- Support operations at various Inspection and Distribution Centers (IDC’s) concerning exports and imports in accordance with all applicable local import and export requirements and laws.
- Conduct Export Commodity Classification Number (ECCN) determination
- Audits Velocity’s imports for each of its Inspection and Distribution Centers (IDC)
- Conduct training and continual awareness programs
- ECS and New BP setup and maintenance
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent, in any field
Preferred Education
- 4-year college degree.
Required Experience
Experience with import or export compliance and international shipping
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of experience with, trade compliance duties
- Experience developing and conducting training
Required Knowledge
- Solid understanding of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Computer literate
- Familiar with complex ERP systems
- Proficient with MS Office or similar
- Able to determine Export Commodity Classification Number (ECCN) under the EAR guidelines
- Familiar with international trade regulations (EU, Asia)
