About the Job

We're looking for a highly motivated Marketing Associate with a passion for the cannabis industry to support our Trade Marketing operations in Southern California. This role's primary focus will support the Connected and Alien Labs Trade Marketing operations to ensure a positive experience for customers at top dispensaries. 

You will collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute marketing tactics that support the overall business objectives across our retailer network. You will also track and analyze performance metrics,  generate reports, and identify opportunities to drive growth and increase sales through our Trade Marketing activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Trade and Retail marketing, exceptional proven project management skills, product merchandising,  and a strong understanding of the cannabis industry. What You Will Do
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top dispensaries in your assigned region, understanding their needs and working with the Sales and Marketing team to develop account specific plans to drive growth. 
  • Work with HQ Marketing Team to develop and execute a new world-class hybrid (in-store and online) budtender training and appreciation program.  
  • Support the Connected Marketing team in identifying and executing in-store growth opportunities and marketing activations. 
  • Maximize in-store visibility through displays, signage, and best in class product merchandising. 
  • Support the Connected sales team with dispensary communication and Connected Launch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide real time competitive intelligence to HQ staff by observing market trends, budtender feedback, and consumer buying habits. 
  • Work with HQ staff on the management and deployment of branded SWAG across your region. 
  • Organize and manage the day-to-day operations related to in-store takeovers, pop-up shops, trade shows and other events to promote our brands and products.
What We Are Looking For
  • 1-2 years of experience in Trade Marketing, preferably in the Cannabis industry.
  • Strong understanding of the cannabis retail landscape across California. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven success building and maintaining relationships with trade partners.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and consumer behavior and recommend new and effective trade marketing tactics.
  • Ability to work independently & self manage, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, G-suite, Slack and experience with marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Extremely organized with a keen attention to detail, quick responder, able to multitask.
  • Experience building out trade marketing processes and programs. 
  • Experience working cross functionally with Marketing and Sales departments.
  • Working understanding of sales tactics and performance indicators.

  • Compensation

    The hourly pay range for this position in the selected region is: $21.00- $27.00. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
